A New Kind of Summer

Since Friday, things have been looking up a lot more. I still miss my grandpap, but I’m not randomly breaking down and crying anymore. My parents came back Sunday, and they said my grandma was doing great. They took her out to eat and she was so excited that she could now just go out without worrying about leaving my grandpap at home by himself. She wanted to go out again the next day for lunch, haha.

I’m not sure why, but this summer for me has been extremely exhausting. My trip to Europe I knew would be tiring, but I just don’t think I ever really recovered from it. I slept a lot the week after, but I also started my babysitting job which really drains me. I guess it’s this heat too; it’s over 100°F outside right now. :o

I guess usually over summer break I just lounge around and don’t really do anything with myself, and this summer I haven’t done that a whole lot. I’ve traveled a lot: two and a half weeks in Europe, and almost all of last week in Pennsylvania for pappap’s funeral. I babysit four kids (all under 5) twice a week, 8:00 – 1:30, and I’ve been keeping really active. I’ve been playing a lot of tennis with my friends and have been going swimming or just hanging out with friends. Nonetheless, I’m glad I’m actually doing things this summer.

I decided that I’m going to make a scrapbook of my trip to Europe. I used to be really into scrapbooking, and then I kinda just stopped. It’s really time consuming and I get frustrated when things don’t look perfect. So, I bought a kit and scrapbook and I plan to start working on that pretty soon. I’ve also been meaning to start writing posts about my trip. I think my next post will be one of those. I just need to gather my thoughts.

In other news, I got my scores back finally from my AP English Language and Composition Exam I took back in May. You may (or may not) remember me talking about it being extremely hard but I got a three on it! It was out of five, five being the best, and if you score a three, four, or five you get college credit. I wish I would’ve done a little better, but I’m just glad I got college credit.

Also, I’ve decided to do away with affiliates and instead just create a link page with all the blogs I read, like, and whatnot. So if you used to be an affiliate, you may keep my link up or you may take it down. I moved almost all of my affiliates to the link page. It’s up to you.

I feel like I’m just all over the place right now.

  1. Your grandmother is highly optimistic! It’s a good thing because it’s better to have someone full of life than being taken down by a tragic :/.

Eeep. That happens when you just came back from a different country! Time zones will get to you. XD! What you need- is an adjustment! What happened to me.. Is when I got back from vietnam in 2005, I became a nocturnal person -__-.

It seems like you’re having some fun with summer- taking it easy :P! And I hope to see some snapshots of the scrapbook you’re creating (:!! I want to make a scrapbook of my 2011-2012 year :P! I’ll need a hefty lotta paper! :P

    Good luck with it! (:

And congratulations on getting a 3 on the AP test :)! Ughh. I hate my life. I got …. a 2 on the AP test. I blame my teacher and her horrid ways of teaching or something :/.

I want to limit the size of my “affiliates”. But EVERY FRIGGIN TIME I DO,.. I move those who don’t talk to me to a links page. AND THEN all of a sudden, people that I remove coincidentally call me up about it. It’s annoying :c.

I heard Charter Cable is REALLY GOOD. Seriously, it’s like the speed of nearly light with their internet speeds.

    I hope you’ll take care, Becca (:!

  2. Brilliant about college credit, way to go. I do remember you talking about this and you did say it was extremely difficult, so that’s fantastic.
Awww bless your grandmother. She’s a tough lady by the sounds … Sounds like you get your toughness too.

  3. that is good that everything is looking up and working out better for you :) Also it is good to stay active. My best friend and I go on a walk around our development everyday, well almost haha Or i bike ride in the morning. I cannot stay in the house for very long. I agree with you my summer has been extremely busy. I thought it wouldn’t be as bad because I am not doing field hockey this year (i would have conditioning and workouts), but I spend most of my time at my church lol I also been hanging out with friends and going to the beach a lot (I live in like 1 hr from it). I think our summers will be good :)

I need to make a scrapbook on my europe trip and my mexico trip…. lol And I got a 4 on my AP studio art exam, although its out of 6 (or maybe it is 5), so It’s pretty much the same as you got! But good job. I know people who get like 1 or 2 on that and isn’t AP Lang hard? Like it’s a lot of grammar and writing, right?

I should do away with my affies too. A lot either left, have broken links or I just don’t really talk to anymore. Also it clutters my page right now. Ahh I’ll see who responds in the last few blogs and I’ll keep them up.

Yea I changed so much from the trip and so did my church friends who went on the trip. I really want to go back. I encourage you to go on a mission trip outside the US. And thank you so much! :D

  4. I’m glad to hear you’re doing much better Becca! Really I am!

I’m also glad to hear your grandma’s doing a lot of coping on her own and getting out more and wanting to get out! It’s a sad time yes, but she’s doing the right thing and I’m sure your Grandpap wanted her to do this instead of mourn for him. Ya know?

As far as the weight thing goes I do feel better about myself. I’m putting more and more make up on. And I feel great! I have a boyfriend now, and he’s absolutely amazing! I met him yesterday and it was official yesterday :). Heehee. But yeah.

  5. You definitely have quite a bit on your plate right now, so it’s okay not to be perfect. No one is perfect in regular circumstances, so it is completely alright to not be perfect when so much is going on!

Congratulations on getting college credit on your AP exam. It must have been extremely difficult, I can only imagine.
